Drawing Challenges

Drawing on an Object  For my initial drawing on an object project, the pillowcase came to mind instantly. As the pillowcase's use is for the bettering of your sleep and to help you fall asleep at night, I wanted to express words or actions that do or do not help you to fall asleep at night. I used a plethora of different mediums and art styles to portray the words onto the pillowcase. My mediums ranged from embroidery, sharpie, paint, charcoal, colored pencil, ball point pen, and even cutting out of the actual pillowcase to create the words onto the pillow. For my second drawing on an object piece, I was flipping through a magazine and saw the Mona Lisa, for many of us the Mona Lisa has been a staple of Art royalty and has a certain deity about her. So I cut her face out and swapped it with another, more modern or western face. I wanted to portray that although the Mona Lisa's face is beautiful and has meaning behind it, she is by far not the standard of beauty. In starting my ...
